And then Winston Churchill was like: "An Iron Curtain has descended upon this journal, man. She's gone friends-only."

On Japan [

This was written in response to a discussion thread about the immense popularity of anime and manga in the western world. Many people overlooked the satirical tone and assumed it was, in fact, my real opinion. Much amusement resulted.

Of course, Japan is the devil. And they have been brainwashing our society while they snicker behind that phony polite reserve. I have been telling the world this for years and nobody ever listened, so now it is quite actually, too late. Thank's a lot everyone, might as well go eat some sushi because we are all doomed.

It is a conspiracy that has been going on since the end of WWII, when the Japanese were stripped of their nuclear weaponry and forced into reverting to their sneaky ninja tactics. First they invade our technology, building better and more economical cars and electronics faster than any American could eat a cheeseburger. Thus controlling the world market without anyone batting an eye.

And then they infect our media with their seizure-inducing anime. Pokemon, Yugioh, Naruto. They are all sending subliminal messages to our youth, saying: Rise up against your country, buy pocky and hate your president because he doesn't like anime. And by the time the government uncovers this plot, the Land of the Rising Sun has already claimed it's victory.. Our children don't want to learn English; instead they speak in half-tongue speech, a hybrid of Japanese-English. So much for God bless America.

Nee! I found the pilot to Death Note today and rather than study {procrastination = bad } I decided to read away my little heart! YAYA.

No Raito, no L, no N-kun {who by the way, I still don't like very much. . . but at least he doesn't gross me out like Mello}. Instead the story was about this thirteen-year-old wuss named Taro-kun. Maybe wuss is a little harsh because he was kind of just a normal kid who did what any sane person would do if they actually came across a "Death Note" and found out it worked {but the Death Eraser? COME ON...way to go with the plot filler there}.

But his personality just pales in comparision to Raito, even after the little twist at the end. I think we take it for granted how different Raito really is from normal people, lol. He makes the manga so much more interesting though------discarding the whole corporate take-over arc {that was just one horridly boring plot} but it was worth it in the end just to see Raito's manic sneer when he gained his memories back. Oh the triumph!

And seeing as most people don't read this manga. . . I am sort of rambling to myself now, haha.

I had to take part III of the MEAPS exams today but it wasn't too bad! Just a little bit of Social Studies and some Science. I loved the biology questions; especially the extended response ones where I got to explain my reasoning and talk about the flaws in certain experiments. It brings back the good ol' days of Advanced Biology from my freshie year. It was a class I grew to appreciate but hated for a long time because we had to have partners on certain projects and I always ended up by myself and the teacher would have to coax a group into letting me join them. These days I actually feel embarrassed for the poor people who had gotten stuck with me. I was terribly moody 85% of the time and so very quiet. {In my defense, there were a lot of issues I had to deal with that year though! First my best friends turned their backs on me for awhile and then it was just compounded by the drama of highschool in general}

So anywho, after the exams were over I had an hour to kill before school actually started. My mummy was in the area so I called her and we met at Leo's for brunch { after not eating for several days---I was so hungry!} But the funny part was when I started complaining about the ticket that I still need to pay off when lo and behold, the officer that gave me the ticket walked in and sat down RIGHT SMACK BEHIND ME! Talk about brain-exploding coincidence! I looked over my shoulder and he was just glaring at me over his menu which made me shut up real quick!

It wasn't until after I left Leo's that I actually laughed about it though.
Really, what a small small world it is.

The rest of my day was just kind of average. I did not have Japanese today and that took away my daily socialization. Seriously, I wish I had other people to talk to in my classes! It's not like I go out of my way to be quiet but even in painting I have a hard time chatting with the girls around me. Usually they are too busy listening to their iPod nano's ;-;
